Well, the first day back to school successfully completed! And the kids did try to enjoy what was left of our snow ... sorry, did not get pictures of them out in the snow, but Gus and Allen did take the snow blower to the back yard ... yes to the back yard ... in an attempt to try blow snow from one area onto the main sledding area. So weird that there is barely enough snow for sledding in Jan ... hoping we get a bit more sometime soon.

SNOW!!!!

Well, we live in MN and it was bound to happen ... it snowed! Oh the excitement from my kids and their cousins. They had been gone all morning with their Papa. And after lunch, just as it started to snow, they decided to goto a movie:



But when the movie let out there was quite a bit more! So Papa brought them back to my house where we scrambled to find snow clothes and boots that fit everybody ... good thing we save the old stuff to pass down and that the cousins fall inbetween my kids current sizes:

I ♥ Faces - Week 11

This week at I ♥ Faces their challenge theme is "Bundled Up". I must tell you that living in MN provides me with many pictures of people all bundled up. So it was a tough pick. Here is the one I finally chose of my hubby and our youngest daughter, taken while we were on our winter vacation in northern MN. They were standing in the middle of frozen lake and visiting the local musher who was giving dog sled rides. Behind them is the tee-pee we used as a warming house. We bundled up everyone on that trip so we could all be outside enjoying the snow together:



All our babies and toddlers have been "worn" in some way or fashion (slings, wraps, backpacks, ect). Here Allen was wearing Mary in her Ergo carrier, which works great in the cold and snow because it allows the little one being carried to be well bundled in a snow suit or coat. She loves to ride on her daddy's back.

We really do enjoy our annual family trip up to Bearskin Lodge. While there we enjoy cross country skiing, dog sledding, ice skating, snow showing, broom ball, lots of coffee and hot co-coa by warm fires, and the wonderful company of aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. Way up north

Once a year my parents rent a log cabin in the woods near Grand Marais, MN. My sisters and I brig our kids up for a long weekend while they are there and we have a great family snow and ski time. Its great, no phones, no tvs, no computers! Just family, snow and fun!

G and O decided to spend some money on snowboards (half off at Target now)... so add that to the skiing, skating, sledding winter fun we have here in MN :-)
