Jan 7th 2012

Last year I read a book titled One Thousand Gifts. The very talented author, Ann Voskamp, also has a blog I enjoy following. She has opened up a new challenge for this year:

A JOY Dare ... count 1000 gifts in 2012

Jan 6th 2012

Remember just a few days ago? I posted pictures with snow in them? Jan 1st and Jan 3rd I believe. I took pics of the same back yard today ... its been in the 40s here ... MN has set some records this week for the highest January temps in over 150 years. Some people happy about the mild weather and then some not so much. Hard to ski, snowboard or snowmobile in weather like this.

Jan 4th 2012

Still have a small bit of snow in the front (for the doggies to sniff) but its already 37 degrees here today, so I suspect it will be gone soon. I must admit I love the morning sunshine.

Jan 3rd 2012

Well, the first day back to school successfully completed! And the kids did try to enjoy what was left of our snow ... sorry, did not get pictures of them out in the snow, but Gus and Allen did take the snow blower to the back yard ... yes to the back yard ... in an attempt to try blow snow from one area onto the main sledding area. So weird that there is barely enough snow for sledding in Jan ... hoping we get a bit more sometime soon.

Jan 2nd, 2012 ... what was I thinking?

Really what was I thinking going out to Target? They had 20some checkout lanes open and all of then had three or more people waiting to check out ... nuts I tell you, just nuts!

Jan 1st 2012

Well, we had no snow for Christmas ... weird here in MN. But on New Years Eve we were in a winter storm warning. It did not amount to much either ... just 1-2 inches here at our house, but it was enough to make out kids happy. Unfortunately it was probably only 12 degrees today ... so very little playing outside ... they did try a few times for brief periods.
